Theme: Idolatry of Magnitude

We often seek out big moments in life. Fiery sunsets in exotic places. Ideas that will change the world.  We seem to live in a culture plagued with an idolatry of magnitude. We’ve come to believe that we must have the most extreme adventures, live off the grid completely, start the next big thing or make the biggest salary, in order for our lives to matter. But what does that leave us with? Usually a colossal sense of disappointment. In reality, if we pay attention to the details of each and every day of our lives, we will find that we live in the midst of something magical, monumental and downright beautiful. Our days are teeming with lots of little, wonder-filled moments that shape our lives. What if we took a closer look and realized that sometimes those moments are both big and small, momentous and mundane?
